Digital Photography Director
Padraic O’Meara is a photographer, filmmaker, and creative director originally from Cape Town, South Africa. His relationship with photography began in childhood, borrowing his mother’s Nikon cameras, and developed into a career spanning fashion, portraiture, documentary, and commercial storytelling across Africa, Europe, and the United States. Based in Portland since 2012, his work has been featured in exhibitions, photographic books, and campaigns for international brands. With a background in both still photography and filmmaking, Padraic brings a strong sense of narrative, composition, and visual curiosity to his teaching. At YMA, he encourages young photographers to explore their own perspectives, discover stories worth telling, and develop their creative voices through experimentation, collaboration, and the shared experience of making images.
